Senior Project Accountant

OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Accountant for our DFW project in Dallas, TX.

The Senior Project Accountant manages the project accounting for a business group and works closely with the Business Group Leaders and Program Managers for that business group. Individual must be well‑versed in preparing and analyzing month‑end financial reports, including cost reports, P&Ls and Report Cards.

• Demonstrates high level understanding of all Project Accounting functions and GAAP.
• Reviews and budgets overhead cost reports for the business group(s).
• Supervises and manages a team of Project Accountants for the business group(s). Hires, trains and develops staff for the business group(s).
• Performs internal audits of business group cost reports, which includes periodic travel out to groups’ project sites.
• Individual has a strong understanding of the Walsh monthly P&L process and ensures timely submittal of project P&Ls and reviews the P&Ls for accuracy.
• Provides financial information and support for prequals and new project bids for the business group(s).
• This position requires an in depth monthly analysis of the owner billings and ability to produce owner billings independently, when applicable, for the business group(s). Posts owner billings and ensures accurate Revenue projections on all business group cost reports.
• Individual has a strong understanding of the company Report Card and WIP for their business group(s).
• Monitors cash flow and communicates with the project staffs on tracking A/R and when the projects are paid.
• Works closely with Program Manager and Business Group Leaders on budgeting and managing the financial risks and potentials for all of the business group’s projects.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or business‑related field
• Must have management experience and experience in the construction accounting field
