Property Accountant

A tier-1, publicly traded company in Dallas, TX is looking for a talented Property Accountant to join their team. Reporting directly to the Director of Operational Accounting, the Property Accountant role will focus on building out monthly financial statements, assist with forecasting and budgeting and help with the preparation of reporting schedules. This is an excellent role for a top performing Property Accountant with at least 1 year of real estate accounting experience looking to work with a major publicly traded company in Dallas.

This is a temp-to-hire role, and company is looking to move quickly.

Responsibilities

• Review monthly financial statements including variances to budget and account reconciliations prepared by 3rd party management companies
• Assist with forecasting and budgeting
• Prepare and/or review CAM reconciliations
• Analyze variances in financial statement and provide explanations to management
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Review set up of real estate leases and amendment
• Assist with setting up accounting procedures for newly acquired properties

Requirements

• Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 1+ years of corporate real estate or property accounting a plus
• Real estate accounting/leasing experience a plus
• Highly proficient with Excel
• Yardi experience a plus
• Excellent communication skills and thrives in a collaborative environment
