The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting functions to support accurate financial reporting and operational decision-making. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, exceptional critical-thinking skills, and the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing complex, multi-unit financial activities. A hospitality background is helpful but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for multiple business units.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies.
  • Review and reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and develop solutions to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and support operational leaders.
  • Assist auditors with required documentation during financial audits.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for accounting systems and processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience; multi-unit or multi-location experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of core accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in accounting software
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Hospitality or restaurant industry experience helpful but not required.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong time-management and prioritization
  • Adaptability in a dynamic, multi-unit environment
  • Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
