Senior Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Accounting Manager to join our team. This key role is essential in managing accuracy and timeliness of the daily accounting activities of the company. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled and detail-oriented and have extensive experience in managing accounting functions, financial reporting, and team leadership. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional organizational abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance with accounting regulations.

As the Sr. Accounting Manager, you will oversee a Sr. Accountant, Billing Manager, and Accounts Payable Specialist, ensuring that all financial transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner. You will be responsible for aiding in the development and maintenance of financial policies, procedures, and technologies that will enable the company to scale, while also collaborating with senior management to provide insights into the firm’s financial performance.

In addition, you will play a pivotal role in budgeting and forecasting processes, helping guide the strategic direction of the organization. • Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately
• Manage the monthly close process, including maintaining a close calendar and detailed task list
• Prepare and present monthly financial statements and reports to senior management, including debt covenant reporting to our credit partner
• Proactively develop, implement, and improve accounting policies, procedures, technologies, and controls to enhance operational efficiency
• Aid in management of ERP platform, accounts payable system, and accounting-related software integrations
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements for state tax filings
• Partner with the Controller to coordinate and manage annual audits, ensuring timely completion and communication with auditors
• Manage annual 1099 filings
• Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, fostering professional development and teamwork
• Identify and lead process improvement and automation projects

• BS / MS in accounting or related field
• Active CPA license required
• 2-3 years’ experience in management of an accounting team
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Excel/Word
• Office-based / Hybrid
• May require occasional travel for recruiting events or training sessions.
