Sales & Use Tax Accountant

Description

Our client is seeking a Sales & Use Tax Accountant to join their team and play a key role in supporting and building their sales and use tax function. This is a hands-on position focused on multi-state compliance, audit support, and day-to-day indirect tax responsibilities. The environment is fast-paced and evolving, making this a great opportunity for someone who is adaptable and comfortable without rigid structure.

+ Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns

+ Prepare and file personal property tax returns

+ Support sales and use tax audits, including documentation and responses

+ Research sales and use tax laws and regulations across multiple states

+ Assist with the selection and implementation of sales and use tax software

+ Maintain accurate tax records and supporting schedules

+ Identify process improvements and compliance efficiencies

+ Collaborate with accounting and finance teams as needed

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)

5-7 years of sales and use tax experience

Experience supporting or participating in sales and use tax audits

Strong background in multi-state tax compliance

Comfortable working in a less structured, entrepreneurial environment

Detail-oriented, hands-on, and proactive
