A fast-growing, industry leading development and construction company is looking to add a Senior Accountant to join their team located in Dallas, TX. The Senior Accountant will manage end-to-end accounting responsibilities, including general ledger ownership and the delivery of accurate, timely financial reporting in line with applicable accounting standards. This role requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to partner effectively with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and relevant regulatory standards
- Manage and execute the month-end close process for assigned entities or properties
- Prepare, post, and reconcile journal entries within the general ledger
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
- Support the monthly cash clearing and reconciliation process
- Review account reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and investigate variances
- Prepare and record adjusting journal entries as needed
- Research general ledger activity and address unusual or unexpected balances
- Review partner and lender agreements to ensure ongoing compliance
- Prepare financial reporting packages and compliance deliverables for external partners and lenders
- Work closely with internal departments and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and financial governance standards
- Develop working knowledge across multiple accounting functions through cross‑training
- Analyze differences between actual cash receipts and projected cash flows
- Contribute to the improvement and optimization of accounting processes and procedures
- Assist with special initiatives, projects, and ad hoc reporting as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 4–7 years of relevant full‑cycle accounting experience
- Prior experience in real estate and/or property management accounting is advantageous
- Background in public accounting is a plus
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced formulas and functions
- Experience working with accounting systems and financial reporting tools
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Adaptable and able to prioritize competing demands
- Detail‑oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, self‑driven, and committed to continuous improvement
