Senior Analyst Reporting and Technical Accounting
HF Sinclair is seeking a Senior Analyst Reporting and Technical Accounting in Dallas, Texas who prepares assigned sections of SEC filings, including quarterly and annual reports and related earnings releases. The role prepares and reviews statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and other regulatory requirements and assists as a key member of the Technical Accounting team on various matters, including business combinations, complex transactions, new accounting pronouncements and other technical matters.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review assigned sections of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Lead end‑to‑end preparation of statutory financial statements for multiple legal entities in accordance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to gather supporting data and disclosures for external reporting.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness and timely submission of SEC and statutory filings through effective project management and review processes.
- Maintain compliance with evolving disclosure requirements and implement reporting best practices.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Assist in development and maintenance of reporting templates and process documentation to streamline future filings.
- Participate in ESG disclosure implementation, adopting accounting assessments, process changes and controls to meet global and regional standards.
- Assist in ESG reporting processes and internal controls, collaborating with sustainability, legal, EH&S, SOX and regional teams to integrate ESG data collection into accounting systems and financial reporting.
- Prepare board presentations and investor decks as necessary.
- Manage financial reporting duties, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of deliverables in response to management’s informational needs.
- Conduct technical accounting research to support complex transactions, new accounting pronouncements, M&A and SEC filings.
- Provide interpretation of financial policies, governmental legislation, accounting theory and regulations.
- Develop and formulate company‑wide accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive, technical accounting and GAAP experience; SEC reporting experience required.
- Experience with SAP and Workiva a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required;
Master’s Degree a plus. - Advanced knowledge of GAAP and regulatory financial reporting requirements.
- Must be able to lead and direct the work of assigned staff with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication; decision‑making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
