Junior Tax Accountant

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Tax Returns Preparation and Compliance

• Assist the preparation of all information and data gathering required for the filing of all Federal and State Income Tax returns and payments.

• Assist preparation of information returns which include 1099's, FBAR, Form 1042 & 1042S - Nonresident income withholding, Form 8288 - Nonresident withholding on real estate dispositions, Form 8804 & 8805 - Partnership withholding.

• Assist preparation for estimating quarterly tax payments which include - individual (non resident and US citizens living abroad), corporate, trusts, estates, partnerships, nonprofit organizations, Texas franchise.

• Assist in notices and audits for local, state and federal agencies.

• Identify problems and opportunities for research. Assist with tax research.

• Perform research and provide analysis on special projects as directed by the tax director/tax manager.

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of returns. 1041, 1040, 1040NR, 1120, 1120-S, 990, 1065.

• Review accounting books and records for several entities.

Education and Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, concentration in tax a plus

• Previous internship or tax experience a plus

• Basic working knowledge of accounting

• Ability to multi-task, with excellent organizational and communication skills (oral and written) with individuals at all levels (internal and external).

• Ability to accept professional responsibility while working autonomously as well as serving as a conscientious member of a team

• Exceptional ability to learn quickly and think creatively. Ability to "think outside the box".

• Excellent PC skills with particular emphasis on MS Word, Excel, etc. Ability to leverage technology to continuously improve processes.

• Highly motivated, detailed oriented, self-motivated, and capable of completing a variety of projects simultaneously.

• Ability to meet deadlines in high pressure situations is essential in a fast paced environment.
