Accounting Manager – Dallas, TX – $120,000–$135,000 per year

Responsibilities- Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Coordinate preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and other planning procedures; analyze and report variances
- Prepare external audit materials and external financial reporting
- Ensure application of internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial procedures
- Timely and accurate financial and management reporting for federal funders, investors, and the board of directors
- Lead the month‑end close process; review procedures to eliminate inefficiencies
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial statements
- Review all month‑end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead cost allocation
- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems
- Hire, train, and retain competent accounting staff
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a public company setting
- 1–3 years of public accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification preferred
- Strong understanding and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proven experience with financial reporting, data analysis, auditing, and forecasting
- Proficient in creating journal entries and performing account reconciliations
- Experience with SOX compliance and variance analysis
