LHH is seeking a Staff Accountant for a privately held, growing organization operating within the transportation and logistics services industry. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands‑on position covering core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. The organization offers a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and is well‑suited for someone who is detail‑oriented, analytically minded, and comfortable working with deadlines and multiple priorities.

Experience in logistics, trucking, or similar service‑based industries is highly preferred.

Job Responsibilities
  • Post daily bank transactions and cash activity
  • Apply daily accounts receivable cash receipts
  • Code, process, and reconcile corporate credit card transactions
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly bank reports
  • Process weekly check runs
  • Prepare and post month‑end journal entries
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and post related adjusting entries
  • Research and resolve discrepancies related to A/P, A/R, and general ledger accounts
  • Assist with preparation of month‑end and post‑close management reports
  • Respond to accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data
  • Analyze financial information and develop spreadsheet‑based reports
  • Collaborate with internal team members and external vendors to resolve billing questions and discrepancies
  • Participate in special projects and additional accounting initiatives as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or trucking environments preferred
  • Billing and collections experience strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional phone and email etiquette
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service mindset (internal and external)
  • Ability to work collaboratively while handling confidential information
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Self‑motivated, analytical, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment
