Senior Accounting Manager, Non‑Profit (130K-140K)

LHH is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager for a growing nonprofit organization in Dallas, TX. This role will oversee accounting operations, lead a team of professionals, and ensure compliance with nonprofit and federal grant reporting standards while supporting the organization’s mission‑driven initiatives.

In addition to holding (or actively pursuing) a CPA, the ideal candidate will have nonprofit experience with federal grants or Single Audits, a proven background in leadership, and the ability to effectively communicate with executive and director‑level teams. This position pays 110K‑120K depending on experience.

• Lead day‑to‑day accounting operations and oversee financial reporting functions.
• Manage a team of 2–6 accounting professionals, fostering development and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with federal grant requirements, Single Audits, and nonprofit reporting standards.
• Collaborate with executives and department leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and contribute to FP&A activities as needed.
• Maintain and optimize accounting systems, including Blackbaud, Financial Edge, Concur SAP, and Yardi.
• Support growth initiatives as the organization secures new grants and expands services.
• Drive process improvements and bring forward innovative ideas to enhance operations.

• Experience with Single Audit or federal grant compliance.
• Strong leadership skills with prior experience managing accounting staff.
• Ability to partner and communicate effectively with C‑suite and senior leadership.
• Background in public accounting, industry, or a combination of both; audit experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of nonprofit accounting systems such as Blackbaud, Financial Edge, Concur SAP, or Yardi.
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to interact with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• FP&A and budgeting experience is a plus, though not required.
