HF Sinclair is seeking an Accountant, Inventory in Dallas, TX. In this role, you will conduct complex accounting assignments for the inventory accounting department with minimal supervision and act as a resource and lead position for less experienced personnel.
Job Duties- Accounting point of contact for various departments including Environmental, Compliance, Reporting, and Corporate Accounting for state and federal government regulatory programs.
- Research accounting treatment of currently enacted and proposed state and federal regulatory programs.
- Prepare various reports to assist with compliance requirements.
- Maintains General Ledger Accounts and account reconciliations.
- Assist Management with preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packets for distribution to various stakeholders.
- Analyzes and manipulates various Company and/or financial data and records at a high level.
- Monitors the timely completion of routine to complex staff accounting duties.
- Oversees day-to-day accounting operations.
- Completes and may supervise special projects as required.
- Analyzes and reviews inventory valuations.
- Provides training and guidance to less experienced staff.
- Performs various assigned financial calculations.
- May create, coordinate, and maintain assigned schedules.
- Prepares and monitors various reports and resolves discrepancies as needed.
- May review various contracts, invoices and other financial data to ensure accuracy.
Special assignments, projects or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
ExperienceA minimum of 5 years of job-related Accounting work experience is required.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
CPA designation is preferred.
Required SkillsMust be able to perform complex accounting analysis and mathematical calculations. Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft products and accounting software. A broad understanding of accounting practices and procedures is required. Must have advanced reading and writing skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal.
PREFERRED
SKILLS:
Experience in Corporate Accounting and SAP FI/CO system experience is preferred.
Self-starter who must be able to manage projects and assignments with extreme accuracy and efficiency.
Work ConditionsOffice based and occasional work in a petroleum refinery. May be required to work flexible hours.
