About the Role

A growing, privately held third-party logistics (3PL) provider is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting freight, brokerage, yard management, and drayage operations across North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Post daily bank transactions and A/R cash receipts.
  • Code, process, and reconcile daily credit card transactions.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly bank reports.
  • Process weekly check runs and month-end entries.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and post related entries.
  • Research and resolve issues with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger.
  • Assist with preparing management reports after month-end close.
  • Analyze information by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying data.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Collaborate with team members and vendors to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Complete special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in the transportation/logistics (trucking) industry preferred.
  • Billing and collection experience is a strong plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (V-lookups, Pivot tables).
  • Experience with McLeod Software is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High customer service orientation and ability to handle confidential data.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, critical thinking, and sound judgment.
