Senior Staff Accountant

One of Vaco's midmarket clients in the East Dallas area has given us the exclusive search to onboard a Staff Accountant as part of an overall effort to upgrade the team.

Accountants will need to be engaging and communicative as this role will interact with other teams, organizational skills will be important, responsibilities will include accounting tasks as well as monitoring inboxes and case queues. This role will be responsible for handling a lot of the day-to-day entries and be on the forefront of things like depreciation and amortization.

Compensation: $70-75k annually.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Own the month-end close processes for assigned areas, including daily interaction with internal business partners and external auditors.
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and related balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Create process efficiencies using technology; strong data skills for structuring and enriching data to achieve business insights.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills using VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, INDEX MATCH, etc.

"Nice-to-haves"

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA or CPA eligible strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with financial reporting and financial statement preparation.
• General ledger and related reconciliation experience.
