Dallas, TX - hybrid, 3 days onsite

Vaco has partnered with one of our PE-backed tech clients to onboard an Assistant Controller. They are in "growth/acquisition" mode with a ton of accounting projects going on and need someone with a strong technical background that can assist with things such as acquisition, lease and revenue accounting. This will be an opportunity to build out a team and overhaul processes and procedures to lead the company forward through their growth phase.

Compensation: $160-180K + bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead technical accounting research, documentation, and implementation of new accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805).
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, including supporting schedules and footnote disclosures.
• Partner with internal stakeholders on accounting implications of contracts, acquisitions, leases, and other complex transactions.
• Support external audits, coordinate requests, and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Assist with financial system enhancements and process improvements, leveraging technology to streamline reporting.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and reviewing work for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with FP&A and business leaders to provide insights into financial results and technical accounting matters.
• Support special projects, including M&A integration, system implementations, and other initiatives as needed.
