About Us

ME Living & COCAS provide safe housing and wraparound support for survivors of domestic violence, homelessness, and justice-involved individuals. Our homes need calm, consistent, safety-focused staff who can keep order, document what happens, and support the team when crises arise.

Position Overview

The House Security / Safety Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe, stable, and respectful environment in our program homes. This role is a mix of security, documentation, and support — you are the eyes and ears in the house, making sure clients follow rules, incidents are documented, and staff are alerted when something is wrong.

You will:

  • Monitor safety in and around the property

  • Enforce basic house rules (curfew, visitors, sign-in/out)

  • Complete detailed notes and incident reports so our case managers and therapists know what's happening in the home

There is room to grow into a Lead House Security role for staff who show strong judgment, reliability, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

, sign-in/out procedures, and visitor rules

  • Maintain accurate visitor logs and ensure only approved visitors enter the home

  • Support consistent application of house rules while treating residents with dignity and respect

Documentation & Notes

  • Complete daily shift notes summarizing what happened during your shift

  • Create detailed incident reports for fights, rule violations, injuries, police or EMS involvement, and other significant events

  • Document curfew compliance, late returns, and any behavior that impacts safety or housing stability

  • Enter notes into our system or on our forms the same day / same shift

Communication & Teamwork

  • Communicate clearly with case managers, therapists, house managers, and leadership about safety issues

  • Participate in quick check-ins or team huddles to share patterns or concerns (e.g., repeated curfew violations, tension between residents)

  • Follow instructions from program leadership and contribute to a calm, trauma-informed environment

Qualifications
  • Prior experience in security, residential programs, shelters, corrections, group homes, or similar is helpful but not required

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and follow safety protocols

  • Strong observation and documentation skills able to write clear, simple, factual notes

  • Comfortable working with individuals who may be:

    • Survivors of domestic violence

    • Recently homeless

    • Coming out of jail or prison

    • Managing mental health and substance use challenges

  • Reliable, on time, and willing to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Must be able to pass background checks required by our programs

Schedule & Pay
  • Schedule:

    • Shifts may include evenings, overnights, weekends
