Position Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of donors and purity of product as a result of the plasma collection process. They monitor the donor throughout the collection process for equipment errors, donor reactions, or any unexpected events taking the appropriate actions when any unexpected event occurs. Must be capable of interpreting the results of the health history and vital signs in relation to the criteria as outlined in the company procedures.

• Set up automated collection instruments and monitor donors through the collection process.
• Disconnect donors from the automated instrument and manage Level 1 reactions.
• Ensure the product integrity of the plasma unit and associated samples. Ensure products are dispositioned and collect appropriate samples while ensuring product is frozen and stored in accordance with ADMA procedures.
• Stage units for shipment and samples for testing. Physically arrange samples and cases in freezer to ensure organization.
• Represent the organization in interactions with donors; remain professional, courteous, and attentive to service provided to all donors at the site. Practice teamwork, respect, and courtesy with coworkers at all times.
• Take initiative to elevate work-related skills with the goal of obtaining the Advanced Phlebotomist position. In addition to completing and maintaining the qualification of a phlebotomist, cross-training and successful qualification for plasma processing and donor screener functions is a standard expectation of the role.

Must be capable of interpreting health history and vital signs for eligibility per company procedures. The role requires completing and maintaining phlebotomist qualification, with cross-training and qualification for plasma processing and donor screener functions as a standard expectation.
