Registered Home Care Manager

  • Annual Salary: £28,000 - £42,000
  • Location: Dalkeith
  • Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week + on-call responsibility

We are recruiting for a Registered Manager for a leading provider of Home Care services in Edinburgh and the Lothians, who focus on Care at Home, Live-in Care, and Supported Living. They are committed to delivering a level of service that is efficient, effective, and of the highest quality. This role is a full-time contract for one year, offering a competitive salary that reflects your experience and qualifications.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Manage the operational team within the service, ensuring high-quality, person-centred Home Care and Support.
  • Work closely with centralised functions such as Finance, HR & Workforce Development, and other Operational Services to ensure conformity to regulatory and legal requirements, including Health and Safety.
  • Responsible for the safe delivery of the service in line with legislative requirements and company policy and procedures.
  • Manage and deliver Care and Support services to people in need, ensuring the service operates within required standards and agreed budgetary limits.
  • Implement quality management and improvement systems, manage complaints and incidents, and use findings to make improvements.
  • Promote the rights of each individual, ensuring their wishes are at the centre of their care and support.
  • Maintain full and accurate records and reporting systems in accordance with legal requirements to ensure the effective running of the business.
  • Liaise with other partnership services to meet needs in the most efficient and appropriate way.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be registered as a Manager with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and adhere to the SSSC Codes of Practice.
  • You must be a driver with access to your own car for work.
  • Proven experience in managing high-quality Home Care and Support services.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and develop a service effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and guidelines relevant to Home Care and Support.
  • Ability to manage service budgets and ensure the service is delivered within these financial parameters.
