Accounts Payable Assistant

As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you’ll play a hands‑on part in keeping our UK and international Finance teams running smoothly. You’ll make sure supplier invoices, payments and records are handled accurately and on time, helping us stay organised whilst maintaining strong relationships with our suppliers. It’s a busy, varied role where you’ll keep our accounts up to date, support month‑end routines and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance function.

• Receive, review, and process supplier invoices in line with company policies.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure invoices are coded accurately to the correct cost centres and accounts.

• Monitor the aged creditors report and follow up on overdue items.
• Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.

• Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs.
• Reconcile supplier statements and ensure accounts are up to date.
• Assist with month end closing activities, including accruals and reporting.
• Respond to supplier enquiries professionally and promptly.
• Maintain positive relationships with vendors while ensuring adherence to company procedures.

• Maintain accurate and organised financial records.
• Support audits by providing documentation and explanations as required.
• Assist the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks and projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in an accounts payable or finance administration role.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.
