The Department of Visual Arts is a NASAD accredited program and is dedicated to teaching excellence. Job responsibilities will be on the Gainesville campus.

Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track Digital Arts faculty position in the Department of Visual Arts to begin fall 2026.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will:
    • Demonstrate a successful record (and commitment to) teaching in a creative environment or equivalent industry experience that is transferable to the classroom.
    • Responsibilities include expectations for teaching, scholarship and service.
    • Duties include teaching three courses each semester, holding office hours, maintaining studio space and equipment, assisting advisees, service on departmental and institutional committees, professional development/continuing education for emerging software, and a focus on pedagogies that foster student success and workforce readiness.
Required Qualifications
  • M.F.A. in Visual Art or equivalent industry experience and expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated skills in one or more of the following:
    Illustration, 3-D Animation, and Visual Effects.
  • The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional conceptualization and high-end technical execution, preparing students for careers in film, illustration, gaming, and commercial industries.
  • The ability and willingness to teach on-line and interdisciplinary courses are also preferred.
