Job Summary

The School of Communication, Film & Theatre of the University of North Georgia invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Communication. The department seeks candidates qualified to contribute to its Bachelor of Arts in Communication program primarily on the Gainesville campus. In addition to teaching some General Education Communication courses, the candidate will also teach courses such as Small Group, Communication Theory and other upper‑division coursework as needed.

Prior experience teaching online or hybrid classes is a desirable qualification for this position.

  • Teaching courses as assigned by department leadership.
  • Producing scholarship that advances the faculty member's own professional development, increases student engagement, and enhances the intellectual life of the department.
  • Providing academic advising and other activities that support student success.
  • Engaging in service to the department, college, and university.
  • Assisting with recruiting students.
