Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant I on the Dahlonega campus. This position provides administrative support to team members of the Strategic Impact & Engagement team within the Office of the President. This role includes organizing and managing multiple senior leader calendars, purchasing and requisitions, and travel support to include planning and reimbursements. Additionally, this position supports the front desk of Price Memorial Hall, serving on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities
  • General Administrative Support:
    Provide administrative support for multiple leaders within the Division of Strategic Impact & Engagement and Office of the President as assigned. Perform other tasks as to include calendar management/scheduling, finalizing meeting agendas, preparing reports, supporting/planning travel, mileage and travel reimbursement, managing documents for signature, appointment confirmations, and creating and managing files and spreadsheets.
  • Event Support:
    Assist the Program Coordinator and Executive Assistant to the President with the implementation, facilitation, and execution of large-scale campus meetings and events including but not limited to:
    High Five Events, Holiday Luncheons, and Bi-Annual Leadership Meetings. Duties include but not limited to reserving parking and space, managing invitations, ordering food, and communicating with attendees regarding event logistics. Recruit and train additional staff volunteers if needed for large-scale events. Utilize Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, signage, reports, and planning materials for events. Communicate event information to faculty, staff, students, parents, and friends.

    Event support may be required at times across all UNG campuses.
  • Reception:
    As needed, staff and support the reception area. Greeting and directing visitors as needed and answering the university's main phone line.
  • Other related duties as directed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of personal computers and office software, office machines, and office practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality and ability to apply this concept within and outside the workplace and the ability to meet officials, students, and visitors pleasantly and courteously; the ability to effectively convey information are essential.
  • Willingness to diligently compile and maintain records and various files for department and the ability to coordinate multiple parties' needs and schedules is also essential.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Requires 4 years of administrative support experience, preferably in a university setting
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proposed Salary

Minimum Starting Salary: $15.87 per hour
