Position: Recreation Aid (Pool Cashier) Flex

Summary

This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fleet Readiness Branch;
Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) Programs;
Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). Incumbent performs a variety of duties in support of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Department Recreation Pools.

Duties
  • Perform assigned duties and provide necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information and support of recreation and fitness programs.
  • Provide information concerning facilities and operation.
  • Ensure adherence to regulations, safety and security procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining routine reports and/or perform clerical, custodial and/or general maintenance duties.
  • Perform numerous functions in support of recreation and fitness program delivery, including inventory control, equipment inspection, restocking, point of sale system operation and cash handling.
  • Operate a cash register, point‑of‑sale system, process product or service transactions (equipment loan, rentals, resale, program registration), receive payments and make change.
  • Greet patrons in person, answer the telephone, take messages, handle customer requests, and make referrals to appropriate staff.
  • Adhere to NAVMED P‑5010 sanitation requirements.
  • Provide support for recreation event set‑up and breakdown.
Requirements

Conditions of employment:

  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • Must be available to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.

  • Starting May 7, 2025, non‑affiliated individuals requesting access will need a REAL‑‑compliant driver’s license or another acceptable form of identification to access CNRMA installations.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the MWR department to answer customer questions and/or refer customers to the appropriate activity.
  • Skilled in keyboarding to include operation of point‑of‑sale systems and desktop computers.
  • Ability to perform basic computer operations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend published rules, regulations, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other guides.
  • Ability to perform basic custodial tasks (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping, dusting, etc.).
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to identify customer needs, deliver expected service and/or resolve routine customer issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

This position does not have an education qualification requirement.

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one‑year probationary period. Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required.
