Senior Systems Engineer
Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) in Dahlgren, VA.
Job Description- Demonstrated experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system readiness and user functionality.
- Performs high‑level engineering support on Navy surface ship combat systems requiring comprehensive knowledge and training on specialty systems.
- Considered technically competent on specialty systems and recommends changes in technical application.
- Develops and applies advanced methods in investigating and finding solutions to difficult military system design requirements and problems.
- Plans, conducts, and directs projects including coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical staff in the performance of assigned tasks.
- Evaluates system capabilities and reviews completion of work including system enhancements.
- Position requires comprehensive knowledge to resolve complex problems and provide solutions.
- Full knowledge of industry practices and the ability to lead and train others.
- Ability to communicate technical information in an understandable manner.
- High School Diploma and 8 years' experience in the design, operation, and/or maintenance of complex U.S. Navy Surface Combat Systems.
- Experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system readiness and user functionality.
- Experience in reading design documents, evaluating high‑level interface block diagrams, evaluating commercial equipment, and part‑task trainer emulations.
- Recent and relevant U.S. Navy shipboard experience with current surface combat systems.
- Navy Instructor experience and Master Training Specialist (MTS).
- Qualified TAO, AAWC, and/or CSC.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Active Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.
- 25% travel required.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials such as REAL the start of the position.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Pay Range: $95,000 - $115,000 per year
