Position: Leader In Training (part-time)

Summary

The Leader in Training (LIT) and Floor Leader position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” The LIT and Floor Leader performs a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Works directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates and provide leadership.

Sales

Generation and Guest Service
  • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and consistently provide legendary service to each Guest
  • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires
  • Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, consistently sharing that knowledge with the Team
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices
  • Remain consistent in personal sales and look for opportunities to enhance Team presentations with the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG)
  • Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by Store Management
  • Provide legendary service throughout the store in the Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area
  • Know exchange and return procedures and turn them into a showmanship opportunity
  • Fill out and effectively use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals
  • Meet or exceed performance standards in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs (e.g., fit appointments, Buckle credit card, guest connect)
  • Investigate and navigate how to expand Guest selection through inventory management and product search tools
  • Maintain and build good Guest relationships to develop a client-based business
  • Lead by example with high showmanship, excellent customer service and attentiveness
  • Recognize and communicate Guest Levels with the Team
  • Ask business-driven and showmanship questions to Manager, Team Leaders and Teammates
  • Be coachable and open to learning from management
  • Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, whether or not the Manager is present
Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development
  • Recognize recruiting opportunities using Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals and Teammate recommendations
  • Develop skills and assist in leading, directing, motivating and educating new Teammates to meet Buckle’s standards on a daily basis
  • Maintain a positive attitude to create a positive floor culture
  • Demonstrate professional dress to inspire fashion in all Teammates and Team Leaders
  • Participate effectively in daily setup, training, and reviews while utilizing the Performance Tracker
  • Motivate Teammates to initiate and complete daily tasks
  • Demonstrate denim showmanship and denim fit card coaching to Teammates and Guests
  • Create and develop results in your department and balance all District Manager actions within your segment
  • Demonstrate leadership actions during segment: awareness of Guests, engage Guests with product, keep leaders and Team informed, gather Guest names
  • Collaborate to benefit both Teammates and Guests
Visual Merchandise Management
  • Own and influence product through zone ownership, including product knowledge, placement, presentation, lifecycle, and tracking results
  • Recognize and assign zones and projects daily with clear learning goals
  • Ensure Teammates follow Visual Standards and use the Weekly Visual Checklist with urgency and accountability
