Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Cypress, Texas location. It is Monday‑Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no on‑call shifts.

What does the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients, demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program.

Responsibilities
  • Oncology Clinic RN
    • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards.
    • Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
    • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
    • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care
    • Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
    • Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
    • Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient chart.
    • As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and the interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
    • Assist patients in locating available community resources.
  • Inter‑professional collaboration
    • Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience.

Education & Training
  • Level I
    • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program, BSN preferred.
    • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Maintain continuing education requirements.
    • Entry level – 0–3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Level II
    • Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Level Senior
    • Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
    • Oncology certification preferred.
