Facilities Maintenance Helper

Assist the Maintenance Tech in performing scheduled and emergency maintenance and repair duties associated with the operation of a water or wastewater facility. Reports to the facility maintenance tech they are assisting and the Facility Maintenance Supervisor.

• Maintains facilities by scheduling and performing preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, clarifiers, and other facility equipment.
• Investigates and performs minor repairs at facilities.
• Uses proper hand tools or power tools for required tasks.
• Records tasks performed and completes data on tablet.
• Required on call duty for emergency repairs when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School or GED
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• People skills
• Recommended to achieve water and wastewater certifications

• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to communicate with customers
• Ability to communicate with supervisor
• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Must be able to push, pull and/or lift items weighing approximately 50 lbs.; exposure to dust, fumes, vibration, noise, and dirty working conditions.
• Work environment involves intermittent, physically demanding tasks such as reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, raising, carrying, pushing, or pulling moderately heavy objects (20‑50 lbs).
• Physical strength and agility sufficient for strenuous tasks under varying weather conditions.
