Job DescriptionBank of America is dedicated to improving financial lives. This role originates residential mortgage loans and serves as the primary lending specialist within the financial center, offering First Mortgage and HELOC products as well as Auto Loans, Credit Cards, and Core Banking services. The position requires balancing sales performance, operational risk, and client relationship care and is subject to registered SAFE Act requirements.
Responsibilities- Provides specialized and personalized service, offering advice and guidance to financial center clients across the full spectrum of borrowing and banking offerings.
- Builds and deepens relationships with new and existing clients by leveraging the bank’s capabilities.
- Analyzes the client's financial needs and recommends financial services that align with their priorities.
- Presents mortgage product solutions, submits applications, assists clients with documentation, and keeps clients informed throughout the loan process via calls, email, and online messaging.
- Engages clients through outreach and pipeline management activities, conducting consistent follow‑up routines to meet client needs.
- Responds to client requests and refers them to appropriate internal partners.
- Partners with leaders and market teams to deliver an exceptional client experience and coach associates.
- Minimum of 2 years of mortgage origination experience. (If not met, must have held one of the following at Bank of America for 1 year:
Home Service Specialist II, Lending Client Associate, Lending Client Support Manager, Lending Specialist, Senior Banker, Business Solutions Advisor or Financial Solutions Advisor.) - Knowledge of credit and home lending requirements.
- Active listening to determine client needs, proactive engagement.
- Professional, effective, and confident communication, both in person and over the phone.
- Critical thinking and analysis of financial and credit data to advise clients on product/pricing policies, gathering additional needed information.
- Effective customer service skills with ability to manage the full client end‑to‑end experience and resolve problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Dedicated, enthusiastic, performance‑oriented, strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work weekends and/or extended hours as needed.
- Team player and collaborator, translating knowledge into strong internal and external relationships.

- Experience in a financial center where goals were met or exceeded.
- Analytical ability with complex financial data and alternative financial solutions.
- Knowledge of banking products and services.
- Solid time‑management, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Experience in a loan origination role in a retail environment and knowledge of mortgage products (Conventional, Jumbo, HELOC, Government).
- Understanding of structuring, processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
- Familiarity with federal regulations governing real estate lending, FHA and HUD guidelines.
- Experience with other lending products (Credit Card, Vehicle Loans).
- Strong computer skills, including MS applications and prior use of laptop technology.
