Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Advisor II, Workforce provides advising to workforce and CTE students serving as first line of contact and as a resource on services available to students. Provides direction and referrals to workforce students to meet the students' needs from career guidance, through program selection and completion, and into job search preparations. Meets with students on a regular basis to track their success and progress, reporting on progress of students and involves others to assist with their success.
Serves as a resource to colleagues on workforce and CTE programs, labor market information, and program requirements. This is a temporary, grant-funded position. Continuation of the position from one academic year to the next is dependent upon continued grant funding.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provides information on the application process for competitive admissions programs
May include success, retention, completion and graduation rates as well as other data
Provides resources for interview preparation
Contacts students who have workforce credits or are close to workforce award completion but are not enrolled in courses and advises on steps to completion
