Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

Salary up to £75,000 DOE. Welcome Bonus up to £5,000. Relocation Allowance up to £8,000. We are a growing small animal practice with two well-equipped sites and a close-knit team that delivers exceptional care to our patients. Join Our Well Equipped Site. This role focuses on delivering high-quality medical and surgical care to small animals, including consultations, routine neutering, diagnostics, and case management. You’ll be supported to build strong, lasting relationships with clients through clear communication, compassionate guidance, and collaborative discussion of treatment options and care plans.

Salary up to £75,000 FTE DOE

• Deliver high-quality medical and surgical care to small animals, including consultations, routine neutering, diagnostics, and case management.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with clients through clear communication, compassionate guidance, and collaborative discussion of treatment options and care plans.
• Contribute to a practice that is well equipped to support excellent clinical standards and confident decision‑making.

• Comprehensive laboratory equipment, including biochemistry and haematology analysers, SNAP test reader, centrifuge, microscope, haematocrit testing and Diff-Quick staining
• Advanced diagnostic and monitoring tools such as ultrasound, Doppler blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximetry, multiparameter monitoring and a Bair Hugger warming system
• A fully equipped dental suite, including dental machine and dental X-ray
• Digital X-ray facilities for high-quality imaging and diagnostics

We genuinely value work‑life balance and are happy to tailor rota patterns to suit your lifestyle. Options such as shorter days or later starts can be discussed. Usually a full-time position is up to 40 hours per week, with 1 in 5 Saturdays (negotiable) and no out-of-hours requirements.

Our Summerdale branch is based in Cwmbran, a well-connected town with easy access to local amenities, green spaces, and transport links. Newport is 10–15 minutes away, and Cardiff is within easy reach, making it a suitable base whether you prefer city life, coast, or countryside. We offer a relocation allowance for the right candidate and can support you in making a smooth move to the area.
