Main duties of the job
  • To welcome and support women, relatives, friends and other visitors to the clinical area.
  • To participate in the delivery of clinical care and undertake clinical duties, which are allocated and directly supervised by a registered midwife or registered nurse.
  • To share with midwives and or nurses information relating to the care of mothers and babies and to assist mothers in the care of their babies.
  • To assist in the care of women within the hospital, to ensure their needs are met both physically and psychologically.
  • To report any changes in women condition to the midwife in charge and respond to clinical emergencies.
  • To escort women and their babies needing to attend other departments within and the Health Board.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role;
    Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
