The role:

Unqualified Learning Assistant

You’ll be part of the school’s Learning Support Team, supporting pupils throughout the school day while developing your skills and confidence in a classroom environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils in lessons, helping them stay focused, confident, and engaged.
Working one‑to‑one or in small groups under the guidance of teachers.
Assisting with basic lesson preparation and learning resources.
Helping to maintain a positive, calm, and inclusive classroom environment.
Building positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Working confidently with pupils who present ALN and challenging behaviour, helping them feel supported and understood.

No formal qualifications are required — just the right attitude, reliability, and a genuine interest in working with young people.

What you’ll need

To be considered, you’ll need:

A DBS certificate (or willingness to apply — we’ll support you).
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) in Wales (we can guide you).
The right to work in the UK.
Two recent references.
A positive, patient approach and transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, or care experience.
This role suits graduates, career‑changers, support workers, or anyone interested in education, youth work, or SEN support.
