Description

Job purpose

Repair products returned by customers.

Duties and responsibilities

Perform inspections and troubleshooting for a variety of medical devices including ultrasonic cleaners, scalers, curing lights, sterilizers, and instrument washers.

Write detailed reports and investigation findings.

Compile parts lists to order parts.

Adhere to Quality guidelines for documentation and testing practices.

Use SAP to document activities.

Record calibrated equipment and consumables, as needed.

Perform medical equipment repairs in line with work instructions.

Perform end of line testing for units and electrical safety testing.

Work with schematics, drawings and test procedures.

Provide technical support for dealer field service technicians over the phone and email.

Meet and exceed production standards and quantities.

Work within the guidelines for FDA regulated facilities.

Employ best practices to increase efficiency of department.

Develop and promote a learning culture.

Complete assigned training as needed.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability needed in order to successfully perform the job.

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, six months to two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to effectively communicate with customers, sales reps and employees

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence via computer

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables

Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in primarily a plant environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This is a full-time hourly non-exempt position requiring at least 40 hours per week, with hours of work and days scheduled determined by the Technical Services Manager. Special circumstances such as off shift and weekend work might occur on rare occasions.

This position requires no travel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally the employee is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock and vibration.
