Full-Time / 40 Hours / Days (Mon-Fri 7:30a-4:00p)

Participates with the care teams in Summa Health to provide patient-focused care. Maintains and adapts to daily operations, interprets and executes provided instructions, and works reliably with professionalism in a medical office environment.

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program

• One (1) year related medical office experience; or externship; or associated experience or education

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and EMR.
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
• Ability to travel between locations as needed within the medical group.
• Required ability to handle bodily fluids and possible exposure to communicable disease.
• For SHMG (medical group) employees:
  Ability to obtain Basic Life Support certification within six months of hire with Summa Health and ability to maintain the BLS certification.
• Must pass yearly clinical skill competencies

• Medium:
  Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force continuously to move objects. Ability to bend, stand, and walk for extended time.

The salary range: $19.04/hr - $22.85/hr the salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in pay equity and internal equity when determining offers. The listed range is the full base salary range;

hiring at the maximum is not typical.
