Position Overview

Manchester Local Schools is seeking a highly qualified, student-centered instructional leader to serve as the next Manchester Middle School Principal. The ideal candidate is an experienced educational leader who prioritizes student achievement, builds strong relationships with staff and families, and fosters a positive and structured middle-level learning environment.

This individual must demonstrate a passion for middle-level education, a strong understanding of curriculum and instruction, and the ability to utilize data to drive continuous school improvement.

Qualifications

* Valid Ohio Principal License

* Prior administrative experience required

* Prior middle-level teaching/administrative experience preferred

* Prior OTES evaluation experience preferred

* Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices

* Demonstrated experience using student performance data to guide instructional decisions

* Proven ability to evaluate, mentor, and develop staff

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills

* Commitment to a positive school culture and student-centered leadership

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Leadership

* Serve as a student-centered instructional leader focused on academic growth and whole-child development.

* Conduct regular classroom observations and walkthroughs to provide timely, actionable feedback to teachers.

* Evaluate certified and classified staff in accordance with district and state guidelines.

* Meet with teachers to discuss curriculum implementation, instructional strategies, and individual student needs.

* Lead data analysis processes to drive instructional practices and intervention strategies.

* Support professional development aligned to building and district goals.

School Culture & Climate

* Address student behavioral and emotional concerns using restorative and proactive approaches.

* Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

* Supervise school arrival, dismissal, cafeteria operations, and hallway transitions to ensure student safety and positive behavior expectations.

* Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.

Operational Leadership

* Review and respond promptly to emails, reports, and district communications.

* Collaborate with district administration on budgeting, staffing, and school improvement planning.

* Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and safety procedures.

* Participate in school and community events as a visible and engaged leader.

Why Manchester Middle School?

Manchester Middle School is committed to academic excellence, strong character development, and preparing students for success in high school and beyond. The school serves students in grades 6-8 and has an enrollment of 292 students for the  school year. Our staff includes 23 teachers, one school counselor, and fifteen support staff members. We seek a principal who will build on our strong traditions while leading continued innovation and growth.
