Position:  Consultant Interventional Cardiologist

Healthcare — Tertiary Care Hospital & Cardiology Services. On-site consultant role based in Cuttack, Odisha delivering advanced interventional cardiac care in a hospital setting with a fully equipped cath lab. Seeking a driven interventional cardiologist to join a multidisciplinary team providing high-acuity cardiac services and peri-procedural critical care.

Role & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality interventional cardiology services: perform diagnostic coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) including complex lesion management.
Plan and execute complex procedures (CTO, bifurcation stenting, rotational atherectomy) using transradial and transfemoral approaches as clinically indicated.
Use intracoronary imaging and physiology (IVUS, OCT, FFR/iFR) to guide procedural strategy and optimise outcomes.
Lead cath lab workflows: pre-procedure assessment, informed consent, peri-procedural monitoring, radiation safety, and post-procedure care.
Collaborate with cardiac surgery, anesthesia, ICU and allied teams for multidisciplinary case planning and escalation when required.
Drive clinical governance: maintain documentation, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, mentor trainees and support clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

DM / DrNB (Interventional Cardiology) or equivalent specialist qualification with eligibility to practice in India.
Proven procedural competence in PCI including management of complex lesions (CTO, bifurcations).
Proficiency with intracoronary imaging and physiology: IVUS, OCT, FFR/iFR.
Strong experience with transradial access techniques and peri-procedural sheath management.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and experience managing acute coronary syndromes and procedural complications.
Experience working in a high-volume cath lab and ability to lead/coordinate a multidisciplinary procedural team.

Preferred

Experience in structural interventions or exposure to TAVR/mitral interventions.
Prior academic involvement — publications or participation in clinical research/trials.
Fellowship training from a recognised interventional cardiology programme and prior teaching/mentorship experience.
