About The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Consultant Anaesthesiologist to join a busy multispecialty hospital in Cuttack, Odisha. This on-site role supports elective and emergency operating theatres, obstetric services, and perioperative critical care—delivering safe anaesthesia, effective pain management, and high-quality patient care across surgical specialties.
Role & Responsibilities
Provide safe, evidence-based anaesthesia for elective and emergency surgeries across adult, obstetric, and paediatric patients.
Perform regional, spinal and epidural anaesthesia and ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks where indicated.
Manage airway and resuscitation for perioperative and emergency cases; lead advanced life support when required.
Oversee perioperative pain management plans, postoperative analgesia and follow-up in the recovery area and wards.
Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists and nursing teams to optimise patient pathways, pre‑op assessment and postoperative critical care handovers.
Maintain accurate clinical records, comply with hospital protocols (including infection control and OT safety) and participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
MD / DNB / DA in Anaesthesiology (or equivalent)
Valid registration with the State Medical Council / National Medical Council (India)
Demonstrated competence in general, regional, spinal and epidural anaesthesia
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Experience managing perioperative critical care and emergency OT cases in a hospital setting
Preferred
Fellowship or additional training in critical care, pain medicine or obstetric anaesthesia
Proven experience with ultrasound-guided nerve blocks and point-of-care ultrasound
Prior exposure to teaching, clinical governance, or NABH accreditation processes
