Admissions Counselor – Full Time (Wed: 8am‑7pm, Thur‑Sat: 9am‑8pm)
Valley Hope of Cushing, located in Cushing, OK, is seeking an Admissions Counselor to join our Admissions team. This role is integral to supporting prospective patients and securing Valley Hope of Cushing as their service provider.
Education & Experience- Master’s degree in behavioral sciences, education, or social work.
- Fully licensed or under supervision as a LADC, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
- One (1) plus year of clinical counseling experience or clinical case management, preferably in substance abuse treatment.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/First Aid Certification.
- Starting base salary range from $70,000 – $80,000 per year (based on education and experience).
- $150 incentive per weekend day worked.

- Function as a key member of the multidisciplinary admissions team, supporting the needs of prospective patients and securing Valley Hope of Cushing as their service provider.
- Utilize sound judgment, critical thinking skills, industry knowledge, and customer‑service skills to secure commitments and make appropriate placements for prospective/incoming patients within Valley Hope programs.
- Conduct clinical assessments for incoming patients, completing biopsychosocial evaluations during the admissions intake and applying ASAM criteria to screen mental health/emotional state.
- Assess and validate prospective/incoming patients for appropriate level of care (residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient) based on mental health/emotional state.
- Assign diagnostic codes for incoming/admitting patients based on admission assessments.
- Complete pre‑certification insurance processes for incoming/admitting patients.
- Create & update electronic records in our data‑tracking/EMR systems for prospective and incoming patients; enter data accurately and timely after calls and admissions processing.
- Assess any re‑admissions conditions for re‑admitting patients.
- Serve as back‑up to the Admissions Coordinator for pre‑admissions calls, preliminary financial assessments, scheduling admission appointments, and assisting incoming patients with the administrative admissions process.
- Perform various administrative duties (e.g., chart audits, data‑tracking maintenance, disposition of patient call records, records cleanup).
- Serve as back‑up support to the Nursing Department for property searches for incoming patients.
- Maintain confidentiality of prospective and incoming patient data per HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
- Complete required continuing‑education credits; maintain current state license/certification.
