DescriptionAPPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
You will have responsibilities spanning all aspects of the product design such as working with silicon teams to craft specifications for future chips, working with client firmware teams to design and develop base features of their platforms and creating software to run on these new chips and boards. Developing drivers for various IP blocks in embedded environment using C/C++ and ARM assembly.
Responsible for making changes and enhancements to the RTOS running on these products and investigating and implementing new technologies. 40 hours/week.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 - $220,900/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- Experience and/or education must include:
- Using C and C++ proficiency for software development for resource-constrained environments such as embedded devices.
- Using operating system knowledge to develop kernels.
- Using assembly to interface directly with the underlying CPU architecture.
- Using embedded system architecture to develop and debug embedded software systems.
- Using Unix development tools and environment to communicate with Unix-based main operating system.
- Using device driver development.
- Applying firmware development experience.
- Using macOS, iOS, and Linux command line application development skills.
