Software Development Manager

Overview

Do you want to help define the future of delivering Apple software to customers? Join Software Delivery’s Build Experience team to help work on new technologies used to deliver Apple platforms to millions of customers. We are looking for a manager with a background in software development to lead a team responsible for building sophisticated developer productivity tools with a focus on user experience.

This role requires hands-on management, including developing features, mentoring engineers, growing the team by hiring, and partnering with adjacent tools teams across software engineering to improve Apple’s development and release workflows. A passion for improving workflows and delivering first-class tools and services is essential. • Lead and manage a team of innovative engineers to create productivity tools and services at scale
• Contribute to architecture, design and feature development
• Develop and execute on a roadmap to solve critical problems for the organization
• Work with cross-functional teams to design, plan, and deliver features
• Strengthen the team by hiring and developing top engineering talent

• Knowledge: problem solving, architecture, debugging, and testing
• User-focused: passion for quality, attention to details, and delivering outstanding user experiences
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience leading the technical development of larger features and collaborating across organizational boundaries

• Experience with databases (relational and No
  
  SQL databases like Cassandra)
• Knowledge of containerization, orchestration technologies, networking and security
• Experience with Swift or equivalent
• Experience hiring engineers and helping grow their careers

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $198,300 and $342,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
