THE FORUM is recruiting for a hospitality focused Security Officer to join our team. The Security & Safety Officer performs services that ensure a safe and secure environment for residents, guests and employees while meeting, or exceeding expectations.

Employment Type

Part Time – must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Shift Schedule

NOC Shift.

Hourly Rate

$25.10 – $30.76 plus $2 shift differential for working NOC Shift.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action.
  • Provide security services as designated and secure community assets by performing scheduled lock and unlock duties.
  • Ensure compliance with emergency, security, safety and loss prevention policies and procedures; adhere to universal precautions and all infection control guidelines.
  • Practice positive resident and guest relations; ensure that appropriate resident/guest feedback is directed to supervisor.
  • Patrol the community to prevent and discover activity in violation of criminal, fire or safety codes, and report dangerous conditions (foot patrol and vehicle patrol).
  • Respond to emergency or security calls and complaints, taking necessary action; handle on‑scene emergency situations until relieved by a higher authority, and take proper action at the scene of incident, notify the Police/Fire department and prepare necessary reports.
  • Respond to resident disturbance and emergency calls; attempt to adjudicate incidents using tact and diplomacy and contact the proper authorities for resolution.
  • Patrol the concierge/reception area, monitor building and resident safety systems, responding to any emergencies promptly and properly.
  • Practice and enforce all safety rules and procedures; practice and execute all fire emergency procedures.
  • Carry all the required equipment and forms as prescribed.
  • Follow emergency night procedures to answer emergency response, including guiding AL staff to IL residence and directing emergency vehicles to location.
  • Properly utilize smartphone, 2‑way radio and computers as required.
  • Report in writing the loss or damage of any assigned equipment.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all life safety systems and security requirements.
  • Transport residents, employees & packages on campus as needed.
Qualifications
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, effectively communicate with supervisor, employees, and residents, and perform simple math and complete required forms.
  • Ability to assess emergency situations, make clear judgment calls based on policy, and take prompt action when needed.
  • FEMA/CERT incident command level of competency.
  • Ability to manage conflict effectively.
  • Willingness to work compassionately with the elderly.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform rounds of facility and grounds, on and off trails, night and day.
  • Maintain a CA Driver’s License and adhere to company driver testing and policies.
  • Maintain a Guard Card, First Response Training, CPR for Healthcare Providers, CERT.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
