The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership who is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. You will open and close the Store, supervise Associates, maintain a friendly, easy‑to‑shop environment, ensure proper merchandise presentation, and maintain a clean work area.

You will also execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.

• Understand that safety is the number‑one priority and practice safe behaviors in everything you do.
• Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone. Immediately correct or report any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
• Secure the building, including entrance/exit control, Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) devices daily function check, Cash Office security, armored carrier pick‑ups, and register area.
• Remove clutter and ensure safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
• Ensure customer safety, including accident prevention, accident reporting, and emergency procedures.
• Test all fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after‑hours alarms when requested.

• Treat all customers, associates, and other leaders with respect.
• Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times. Recognize associates using Company recognition programs.

• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with Company Dress Code. Ensure all associates adhere to the Company Dress Code at all times.
• Keep all store areas clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard.
• Be responsible for daily trash removal.

• Ensure recovery, sizing and markdowns are completed to Company standards through teaching, assigning tasks, and following up per Company best practice.
• Be responsible for receiving merchandise truck when needed.
• Process all merchandise with a sense of urgency.
• Responsible for receipt of all non‑merchandise inbound deliveries (e.g., signs, supplies, special deliveries).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all stockrooms.
• Help deliver and place merchandise on the sales floor when all merchandise is processed.
• Ensure any back‑stock is secured and processed to Company policy.
• Manage merchandising of the department including the back stock.
• Prevent loss due to damage.
• Ensure compliance with monthly presentation guidelines in the assigned area.
• Perform floor moves and signing, including promotional signing as needed.
• Conduct re‑wraps as needed.

• Understand and comply with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and maintain a large customer‑service presence on the sales floor.
• Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions. Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
• Maintain the Public View Monitor (PVM) system properly.
• Conduct “code” package inspections.
