Hardware Engineering Lab Manager

The Advanced Development Lab team supports Ru0026D across product lines with cutting-edge prototyping, characterization, and metrology equipment. We're looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative natural problem solver to support our lab operations.

This role supports operational excellence across hardware engineering labs. You will work closely with diverse lab users, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure spaces remain safe, clean, well-organized, and operationally efficient. In addition to supporting day-to-day operations, you'll assist with space and facility projects, help drive alignment of capabilities and processes across locations, and collaborate with peer Lab Managers and engineering leaders to foster consistent, complementary lab culture.

2+ years of experience in Ru0026D lab environments, engineering support, or technical operations. Familiarity with lab equipment, basic maintenance procedures, or safety protocols. Exposure to fabrication tools (3D printers, laser cutters, machine shop equipment). Project coordination or process improvement experience.

Experience with test/characterization equipment or calibration processes. Background working in cross-functional technical teams.

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, Associate's degree with relevant technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience. 1+ years of experience in lab operations, technical support, facilities, manufacturing, or related technical environments (internships and academic lab experience count). Hands-on experience with equipment operation or demonstrated willingness to learn technical systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Self-motivated and eager to learn.
