Camp Via West is hiring Summer Camp Counselors for our camp serving children and adults with disabilities

Join our camp team and play a vital role in creating unforgettable experiences for our camps as a Counselor. You ll provide compassionate assistance with personal care needs, inspire and encourage campers to jump into fun, inclusive camp activities and create opportunities that nurture friendships, build confidence and support campers growth!

Compensation for Summer: $1,454.55 bi-weekly Pay

Summer Commitment Dates: June 7, 2026 - August 22, 2026


* A secondary cohort begins on June 27, 2026 - August 22, 2026

ABOUT

THE ROLE
  • Camper Experience
    :
    Greet campers and their families during registration with enthusiasm, accompany campers in all activities and encourage participation and help promote independence and self-regulation
  • Participation
    :
    Responsible for the personal care of campers. This includes showering, toileting, lifts, transfers and grooming. Engage with campers to amplify their confidence and social skills.
  • Teamwork
    :
    Complete necessary paperwork and documentation, report for sleep
  • Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum experience and qualifications:

• at least 18 years of age*

Other desirable experience and qualifications but not required:

• Previous residential camp experience

• Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS
  • Proof of negative TB test results
  • Proof of TDAP
  • Verification of occupational physical clearance
  • Pass a criminal fingerprint clearance
  • 18 years of age
  • Verification of eligibility to work in the US
