SUPER S.T.A.R.S is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment services to children with physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges. The OT will create individualized therapy programs to enhance children’s abilities to perform daily activities, improve their overall quality of life and promote engagement in meaningful occupations through fun and interactive methods. The Pediatric Occupational Therapist provides skilled, family-centered care focusing on sensory, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional development for children from infancy through adolescence.

This role requires a deep understanding of pediatric development, compassion, and adherence to HIPAA, federal, and Georgia state specific guidelines, ensuring high standards for privacy, safety, and quality care.

This position offers flexible scheduling options, allowing for a mix of morning, evening and occasional weekend shifts to support a dynamic therapy environment suited for both the therapist and the family’s needs. The therapist may work across settings, including clinic-based care, early intervention, or educational settings, to provide children with therapy that integrates seamlessly into their daily routines and school life.

• Comprehensive Assessment and Treatment Planning
• Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments using evidence-based tools and standardized pediatric evaluation metrics.
• Collaborate with caregivers to set personalized, measurable goals that align with the child’s developmental, sensory, motor, and functional needs.
• Develop detailed treatment plans tailored to each child’s unique abilities, as per guidelines established by the Georgia State Board of Occupational Therapy and national best practices.
• Integrate parent/caregiver observations and concerns into the therapy plan to ensure therapy is aligned with home and family dynamics.
• Therapy Implementation and Intervention
• Provide engaging, child-centered therapy sessions focused on key developmental areas, including fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation and social-emotional development.
• Implement creative, play-based activities that encourage motor coordination, sensory integration, and emotional expression within a structured therapeutic framework.
• Educate families and caregivers on implementing therapy strategies at home and in community settings to reinforce skill development.
• If therapy is school based, work closely with educators, paraprofessionals, and other team members to create an inclusive support system, ensuring therapy goals align with academic and social expectations.
• Documentation and Compliance
• Maintain precise records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in secure electronic health records (EHRs), in compliance with HIPAA.
• Ensure that therapy documentation meets all state and federal requirements for pediatric therapy, reporting progress to families and other involved professionals as needed.
• Prepare and submit reports required for insurance reimbursement, aligning with Georgia’s state and federal billing guidelines, and participate in regular audits to maintain compliance.
• Family-Centered Collaboration and Education
• Educate caregivers on developmental milestones, safety, and functional strategies that align with therapy goals, promoting a supportive home environment.
• Serve as an advocate for families, connecting them to community resources and providing information on additional services, such as early intervention or school-based accommodations.
• Foster a collaborative environment through regular communication, providing caregivers with the knowledge and tools to reinforce therapeutic techniques and strategies outside of therapy sessions.
• Professional Development and Compliance
• Participate ongoing professional development, including workshops and training on pediatric therapy practices, HIPAA regulations, and emerging evidence-based practices.
