A senior-level engineering role responsible for leading electrical testing, predictive and preventive maintenance programs across multiple power generation facilities owned, operated, or managed by a major utility organization. The position supports plant reliability, compliance, capital projects, and major outage planning, while serving as a subject matter expert in electrical power systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee electrical testing and predictive/preventive maintenance programs across operating generation facilities.
- Plan and coordinate major equipment outages, including generator outages and installation of new electrical systems and control upgrades.
- Support the design, selection, and implementation of new plant systems and modifications to existing infrastructure.
- Review and monitor annual electrical inspections and prepare detailed technical reports.
- Provide engineering, business, and administrative support to plant leadership, including budgeting, performance analysis, and long-term maintenance planning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable NERC reliability standards, including technical evaluations, procedure development, documentation, and audit support.
- Review drawings, specifications, and design documentation for generation projects under development or construction.
- Serve as the organization’s technical authority in electrical power engineering and maintenance best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Electrical preferred).
- 10+ years of engineering experience in commercial power generation, including at least 5 years in predictive and preventive maintenance within an operating plant environment.
- Strong knowledge of plant operations, maintenance planning, budgeting, and performance analysis.
- Experience supporting regulatory compliance within power generation environments.
- Level II Thermography or Level II Vibration certification preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously and directly with senior plant leadership.
