Role OverviewThe Clerk Typist will provide administrative support to the Gynaecology service, typing professional letters and documents, liaising with patients, departments, NHS Trusts, and external agencies. As the first point of contact for many patients, the role requires professionalism, accuracy, and a patient-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities- Type professional letters and documents at 50–60 words per minute
- Provide administrative support to consultants and nurse practitioners
- Liaise with patients, departments, NHS Trusts, and external agencies
- Maintain a professional, patient-focused approach at all times
- Support the efficient delivery of the Gynaecology service
- GCSE (minimum Grade
C) or equivalent - RSA Level 2 or NVQ Level 2 in Administration
- Typing speed of 50–60 words per minute
- Relevant typing and administration experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage a busy workload
- Previous experience in NHS administration
- £24,465 per annum (Band
2) - 27 days annual leave, rising to 33 after 10 years
