Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to oversee all engineering activities at a production facility in Cumbria. This senior role is key to ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective production of high-quality food products.

The Role

The successful Engineering Manager will:

* Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, coordinating the activities of the engineering department to design, develop, improve and test components and systems on site.

* Prepare and manage CAPEX projects, controls the department budget, forecast operating costs and support strategic planning

* Plan, Organise and direct all engineering activities through electrical and mechanical engineers and other technical staff.

* Promote a strong health & safety culture and maintain and develop the documentation for the ISO 14001, BRC, Internal Technical & SHE legal compliance systems within the department.

* Effective management of the company PPM system to optimise plant efficiency, minimise downtime and manage an effective stockholding.

The Candidate

The successful Engineering Manager will have:

* Proven experience of Engineering Management within the food manufacturing industry.

* Good general level of education, preferably to HNC/HND standard in food technology and mechanical engineering or equivalent.

* Track record of leading and developing engineering teams and performance management of plants and people, and supporting a continuous improvement culture.

* Experience in the dairy industry desirable.
