The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is seeking experienced Behaviour Mentors who can be the steady, positive role model that children truly need. These young people are looking for someone to believe in them, guide them, and help them find a positive path-and that's where you come in.

We're looking for individuals with exceptional communication skills, the ability to build genuine rapport, and a real passion for supporting vulnerable students. With flexible hours-morning, midday, or evening-you can shape your schedule around your life while making a meaningful impact on theirs.

This isn't just a mentoring role. It's about forming a trusting relationship, meeting each student exactly where they are, and helping them reconnect with their learning, their confidence, and their future goals. You'll be a consistent, encouraging presence at a time when they need it most.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong, empathetic relationships that encourage trust, openness, and emotional safety.

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 mentoring sessions that help students understand, express, and regulate their emotions.

  • Guide students in managing behaviour, avoiding negative influences, and developing positive coping strategies.

  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, teachers, and external professionals to create and maintain a structured support plan.

  • Foster a calm, non-judgemental environment where students feel valued, respected, and heard.

Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience working 1:1 with children or young people facing behavioural or mental health challenges.

  • Right to work in the UK.

  • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business/education recruitment agency for this vacancy. All successful candidates must complete full safeguarding and vetting checks. Anyone working with children or vulnerable young people is responsible for safeguarding their welfare at all times.
