Overview
Are you ready to help steer the successful delivery of a major transformation programme? We are seeking a highly capable Deputy Programme Manager to support the delivery of the Synergy Programme and SSCL Exit. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile transition programme, working within a fast-paced, collaborative environment where strong leadership and delivery focus are essential.
Reporting directly to the Synergy Programme Manager, the Deputy Programme Manager will lead and manage a team of Project Managers delivering core work streams for the duration of the Synergy Programme and SSCL Exit. The role will also involve overseeing specific projects and coordinating activity across multiple work streams, clients and third-party organisations to ensure effective programme delivery. You will be trusted to take ownership of key delivery areas, operate with a high degree of autonomy, and maintain strong governance and delivery standards across the programme.
The role requires excellent stakeholder engagement, strong programme delivery capability, and the ability to operate effectively across complex, multi-stream services. We are a supportive and collaborative team that plays a vital role in delivering complex services for our customers. This role offers the flexibility to work primarily from home, with monthly visits to one of our Centres of Excellence (Newport, York, Blackpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, Gosport) and occasional visits to client sites when required.
you'll be doing
- Leading and managing defined transition services to agreed timescales, budgets and quality criteria.
- Managing a team of Project Managers delivering multiple programme work streams.
- Taking responsibility for SSCL elements of the service Cutover Strategy throughout transition waves.
- Creating and delivering detailed implementation plans across key work streams.
- Resolving delivery issues proactively and escalating where appropriate.
- Representing the team at governance forums, including when deputising for senior leadership.
- Playing a full and vital part of ensuring that the Change Management Transition Team (CMTT) delivers in accordance with Sopra Steria best practices, delivery guidelines and to their values and standards.
- To ensure that CMTT Transition activities are deconflicted with existing BAU services to minimise disruption.
- Significant experience of managing large-scale programmes or project management of multi-workstream programmes within a public sector environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant project management or leadership qualifications.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Confidence working with complex stakeholder groups.
- Experience of leading and developing teams.
- Strong presentation skills and experience engaging senior stakeholders.
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Nationwide, with monthly travel to a Centre of Excellence
Security Clearance Level: SC
Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
